Precision Trading System, FAQ, Frequently asked questions index
Q: Is a download or CD available for PTS?

A: A decision was made not to charge course attendees for the software. All of the indicators needed to drive the trading platform have been incorporated in charting available from three different sources. All of the setup information is presented at the course including step-by-step installation instructions. If you decide to use eSignal, for example, a self-installer will be sent to you by e-mail upon request
.

Q: Do I need to pay for a signal feed to run PTS?

A: No. You will need to have good charting to install the platform. I use the charting supplied by my broker (IQuote). This way, you will not have to make monthly payments to PTS. You will own your setup for life with no recurring expenses.

Q: What exactly is covered by the course tuition?

A: The course tuition includes 4 meals (does not apply to Web  Course) and the workbook. After the course, you will receive on-going support (there is no time limit); these include telephone help, membership in a very active graduate message board (500+ members), and access the graduate section of the web site. There are no charges beyond the course tuition and PTS does no sell anything at or after completion of the course.

Q: Will we experience actual trading at the course?

A: You will have about seven hours of trading experience. We have digitally recorded dozens of trades, each illustrating specific trading situations in which you will find yourself. For example, we teach how to avoid a head fake, how to best play a double top or bottom, etc. We even teach how to enter what we call a failed trade. This allows you to get in early with a definite signal and wait for the next event. If it doesn’t take place and the trade fails, you can leave the failed trade with a small profit—rarely a loss.

Q: Is PTS for day traders only?

A: PTS can be used to trade any time frame. Many of the attendees are swing and position traders.

Q: Is PTS for trading stocks only?

A: PTS is based upon the statistical measurement of price movement and is effective in trading the price of any stock, option, future, or Forex. We have many graduates using PTS to trade e-minis, options, and even cattle and energy futures.

Q: How long will it take to master trading the PTS platform?

A: Most graduates are able to trade successfully right after the course. The longer you use the program, the better you will be at interpreting the signals. There are a series of rules or principles to learn before trading the platform; most traders are able to understand the system after completing the two-day training.

Q: Does it help to be an experienced trader?

A: If you have a lot of trading experience, especially as a technical trader, you should do extremely well after this course. Experience often signifies the difference between earning $300 or $400 a day and thousands of dollars each day. However, even beginners can trade successfully with PTS. It is probably one of the most straightforward platforms available.

Q: Is the whole course devoted to trading the platform?

A: In addition to using the PTS platform, traders are presented with a wide range of information. This includes a good understanding of key pivots and price levels, support and resistance, basic chart patterns, using a Level II, recognizing when a stock is and is not in play, selecting stocks to trade, and much more.

Q: Will we learn how to find stocks to trade?

A: As every trader knows, part of the equation leading to consistent success is finding the best stocks to trade (or options). The course addresses dozens of methods for finding stocks in play. In addition to many free methods for finding good trades, we will also demonstrate two scanners: HotScans and Trade-Ideas. Trade-Ideas has recently assigned a programming team to develop scans specific to PTS. You will also learn how to link the PTS platform to a list of stocks and efficiently identify trading setups for all trading styles. When you return from this course, you will always know how to find a trade, long or short. You will also learn how to estimate about how much you will have in a trade before taking it.
.

Q: How responsive is PTS to price movements?

A: PTS indicators are real-time; there is no lag. In fact you will be trading a linear platform and watching the price at all times (you should never trade indicators without being able to watch the price movement).

Q: What kind of indicators are used in PTS?

A: With the exception of volume, all of the indicators you will need are on the chart—similar to a heads-up that a pilot watches in a fighter plane. This three-dimensional view of how a stock is trading gives you (1) exact confirmations for entrances and exits long and short, (2) a reading on exactly how overbought or oversold the stock is in any time frame, (3) how strong the signals are, that is, how much momentum the stock is trading with, and (4) how much you can expect from the trade before entering. Your trading decisions will be made within the context of signals generated by a set of charts; reversals are evident, and buying dips is very obvious since major and minor support and resistance areas are also apparent. PTS does not use candlesticks or bars.

Q:  Is PTS a stand-alone platform?

A: Yes. No other software is required to use PTS.

Q: What makes PTS different from other platforms?

A: PTS displays in real-time exactly how a stock is being traded in the market. Of course this applies to whatever you are trading from options to e-minis, just so long as you are trading price. To the best of our knowledge the PTS platform is the first to employ the statistical measurement of price movement. Most of the other platforms on the market are based upon trend lines, candles, or lagging technical indicators (or some combination of the above). PTS is entirely different. It uses real-time indicators based upon the statistical measurement of price movement as the price distributes around its mean (average price). The complexity of the platform is in its design, not its use; we have developed a very efficient method for teaching the system at the two-day course that will make trading the markets a pleasure. You will see chart patterns that don’t even show up in most charting systems: the bunny, compression steps, pivots, support and resistance areas, breakouts, knife edges, and pre-gap signals. Decisions to enter trades are clear and all the rules are very understandable, even if you have little or no experience in field of statistics. PTS does the work for you.

Q: How do I register?

A: You can register by clicking on Register. When you register on-line, you are reserving a space at the course. You do not have pay when you register; payment is due about three weeks before the course. There is a reduced rate for two or more family members registering together. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation e-mail that has the hotel information (also available on the web site). In the event you are forced to cancel your registration, you will receive a complete refund for facility based courses only (not valid for Web Courses).
